Let the festivities begin !

And so, the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne have started last night with a lavish opening ceremony, as you can see from the pictures below.
Everything from Flying trams & Koala bears down to enormous fish has been brought in to ensure this will stay a once in a lifetime experience.
On my end, I joined the celebration by feasting on a free range Kangaroo medalions with button mushrooms and delicious shiraz glazing :). I can honestly say that it was delicious, the meat is very tender and you can feel the game flavour.
Before you start throwing things at me, let me just say that I prefered to try it now, before I actually met any live Kangaroos, because I don't know if I would have been able to eat them afterwards.

oui, c'est vrai, on est impatient pour voir des kangourous! sinon, nice pictures indeed :)
