Did it ever happen to you to think you hear a cell phone ringing but to realize that it was just your imagination?
It used to happen a lot to me some time last year, so I was pretty happy to find this article from IHT that tries to explain it. Apparently we integrate our cell phones in our being as a 5th limb, therefore the brain is 'on standby' for actions coming from it. Also, the frequencies of the ring tones fall into the same range as the cries of a baby and our brain is made especially sensitive for sounds in this range.
Here you go, interesting stuff, enjoy.
