Seduced by the beauty of nature around us we signed-up for a
4WD 'Luxury' tour through the national park.We had a nice Suburban red Ford vehicle but it wasn't our 'jour de chance' since the car broke down for the 1st time ever (in 4 years) some 120 km away from Coral Bay in the middle of - we can safely say it - nowhere.
Luckily there were some guys with us in another car that graciously brought us back to base and we got a full reimbursement as well as superb pictures of wildlife, so we're not that sad.
The 'little mountain' next to me in this other picture it's a termite nest, impressive eh, all the land around here is dotted with these, and you can see eagles resting on them, they're that resistent.
With the money we got back, we decided to try one of the boat tours of the reef, really not much better than the canoe one we took by ourselves and then went on a nice dinner at Finn's cafe - the seafood is really great !!
